Let’s put it this way... the catholic church  told my mom not to bring a certain rambunctious little boy around any more due to him being so disruptive and the nuns could not control him... I was on my best behavior for air travel for all of my youth airline years, and still continue to be...

"Mr. Stikpusher, please return to your seat."

"We just passed over my house. I think I'll get out here."

Oh my, does that bring back memories. My first airplane flight was on a Connie from Denver to Pittsburg. Best Sunday dress, red carpet from the outdoor finger to the stair, good meal served with style, and a very stern look from mom if I even thought about misbehaving.

Civil Aviation. Probably the same in your family; when we traveled on employee passes, my father would lecture us on how the cabin crew knew who the pass travelers were, and if we screwed around there would be he77 to pay.

Back when air travel was classy... People dressed up for it and received great service.

Yes

I'll bet just looking at the cover of that book brings back memories for a lot of us. Surely does me.

Recently, Don Stauffer's post about his American Airlines DC-4 reminded me of this prized possession of my youth. It was a gift from one of my Dad's bosses at United, a guy by the name of Ralph Glasson, whose wife wrote it. The book even had a little punch out paper 707 model inside the front cover. The airplane is long gone, I think I have the book itself in storage somewhere
