Challenger350Pilot Love the Alclad products...I've worked with them exptensively. However, I am not familiar with ammo filters...can you explain what that (those) is (are)? Really like the effects of the varying panels on your 767. I am currently working on an AA MD-80, and would like to vary a couple of panels as you have.

Ammo filters are very thin paints, enamel based, that Mig Jimenez made popular for afv models.

I love them to add sibtle tonal variations between different areas or panels. There are several tutorials on how to apply filters (just apply them very thin with a brush, without leting it pool).
I hope you find them useful.
Cheers

Challenger350Pilot Nice work, indeed, Marco. The 767 is such a nice subject to build, and you have done a fine job here. What did you use for the gray areas? And the metakllics....did you use specific brands and shades? How was it applied?

Thank you. The grey areas were painted with Ammo acrylic colours (#59 Grey and #209 Light Grey). The metalics are from Alclad II (Chrome and Polished Alluminium) and to get more variety of metal tones, Ammo Filters were applied over some panels.
I can not comment on Zvezda's 747, as I've never built any!
This 767 was very nice to build, with all parts fitting very well. The fit was so nice that I've painted the fuselage before attaching the wings! detail wise, I was very impressed and my only addition were a couple of blade style antennas and a few strobe lights. A very good kit in my opinion.
I think that is absolutely stunning.
Classic AA livery scheme, what better way to show off your metallic finish skills.
Brilliant.
I really like building airliners, cargo, freight etc. This is fantastic. In the 1/144 747-8 from zvezda. How was your build? This will be my first kit from zvezda.
Thanks,
John
Beautiful, indeed!

Beautiful! I always enjoyed seeing your build articles in SAM; are you currently being published?
Looks great!

Here are a few photos of Zvezda's Boeing 767-300, a kit I've built for "The Weathering Aircraft Magazine" some years ago (Issue 5 - Mettalics).
I hope you like it.
