EDIT:  Whoops - just saw the glaring title 1/48 decals.  Ignore.

Minicraft were planning a future 1/144 DC3 in Buffalo Air markings - not sure what happend there.

It was also listed on Hobbylinc - not sure if it was ever done or not

Thanks,

John

Making your own isn't difficult if you can find the art. A set in another scale, although enlarging would have possible issues.

Online photos.

Paint the stripe.

My top source for airline decals is Vintage Flyer. Great product, great service.
I don't see Buffalo there though.

He will print you art he has in scale of your choice.

Ive known people who have commissioned decals from him as well.

Never hurts to ask.

Scaling up to 1:48 can indeed create resolution issues.  One thing I like about a Google Image search is that it will give you the dimensions of the image in pixels.  Airliner liverie tend to be very long horizontally.  The horizontal pixels should be at least 1000 pixels.  Also various graphics software varies a lot on the quality of results when resizing.

A quick search with DuckDuckGo turned up several good Buffalo Airlines images, including their logo and name, in high-enough resolution to use for DIY decals. My goal in my re-kindled scale modelling interest is to replicate as close as possible particular aircraft and ships with which I have had personal experience.

The best decal film I've found, with both clear and white substrates, is made by Kodiak. It's been much easier than I ever dreamed to make my own decals. If I can use any of the decals that come with kits, I scan them first at high resolution so they can be sized to the scale I need.

On the bench: A diorama to illustrate the crash of a Beech T-34B Mentor which I survived in 1962 (I'm using Minicraft's 1/48 model of the Mentor), and a Pegasus model of the submarine Nautilus of 20,000 Leagues Under the Seas fame.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Just asked if he's would be interested in doing two sets for and unlimited racer, in 1/48.
