I had read that rebuilding the first An-225 will not be as straightforward as it would first appear. (Heck, it looks absolutely WRECKED) Certain components are no longer available, and modern certification standards have changed since the Mriya was built.
It's gonna be a long road paved with hard cash to allow the Mriya to fly again. Its owners will have to balance the rebuild cost against projected earnings to see if it will be worth it.
I was not too interested in the Ukrainian markings she wore prior to her destruction, but all this Soviet, I mean Russian "Special Military Operation" hoo-hah has made it attractive. I'll not use the Begemot USSR decals I bought, and will use the Revell kit's markings instead. Slava Ukraini.

leemitcheltree So sad this beautiful beast has been destroyed. Damn.

I thought the bombed one was one of two? Could be mistaken, but I thought there was another one somewhere, Poland?
EDIT: Wikipedia says there's a second, uncompleted airframe, but there was only one operational bird. Sad.

RealG;
On the Antonov, I have seen the kit. AMEN!!!!
That's a pre-built model, thus the sticker price. For a quick display model and if one has the $$$, go for it.
The Revell kit is quite majestic in size and is a good kit.
I'm not familiar with the company, but Revell does a 1/144 version for a lot cheaper.
Thanks,
John
Just thought I would share this as I have not seen this before!
A 1/200 scale model of the Antonov An-225 Mriya. Looks lovely and thinking of biting the bullet and buying one!
