V V S figures Rank & awards identification
Posted by StephenLawson on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 4:28 PM

Greetings all;

I am doing some figures for a VVS display.  I would like to Identify the awards and ranks presented on the box art to at least get them in the correct time.  Nothing like doing a figure represented in 1920's with awards that didn't exist at the time.  These are supposedly from 1943-45.  Any help would be appreciated.

The badge over the right breast pocket of three of the figures, Gold wreath edging, white background, red star and banner,  is a Guards badge. Just a presumption, but awarded to members of the unit when it earned/awarded the title of Guards. The leftmost figure has what looks like the "Hero of the Soviet Union" award over his left breast pocket, top row. Gold star dangling from a red ribbon. Soviet equivelent of a VC or CMH.
