Yeah, but they cost more than straight pins... Way more...  Really, any medium-stiff wire will do.  I just like straight pins because I use 'em for half a dozen different things on dioramas besides figure-posing and mounting (I stick one, point down, in a figures' foot to hold it in place until I'm satisfied with the  location, then I glue it)...   They go into the bottoms of trees, branches, tires, crates, and I use 'em as nails too...

Paper clips work too, pard... I just prefer straight pins.  You can get a box of 300 for about 2.00 at Hobby Lobby.  I don't just use them for figures either.  They make great .50 cal/12.7mm bullets for ammo belts...

Thanks for the tutorial Hans, thats the kind of help I like.  I work better off of tutorials then tips and hints.

Ill try and do that, see what I can do (dont have any thin, stiff wires)  I did just get a TINY drill bit for my dremel.  small enuogh to drill out a figure's eye, kind of small drill bit.  So Ill give it a try.

I dunno if I have been reading to many WWII horror stories, or what, but this dio Im planning (if I get around to it, most of my ideas I dont) will be... different from what mine are normally one.

Cut his head off at the collar. Follow the collartop as much as possible. Short strokes with the razor saw, careful, little at a time, going around the entire neck... Then remove the head and sand flat both the top of the torso and bottom of the head.   Drill a hole into the torso about 2 mm deep.  Drill a coresponding hole in the head.  Cut a straight pin and glue it into the torso.  Then cut the pin to about 4mm and put the head on it looking where you want it, bending the wire if you have to.  Once you get the head right, CA it into place on the wire.  Then fill in the missing "neck" with putty, then sand and paint...  The wire will be the "spine" for your figure...

If you can't drill, heat the pin with a lighter and stab it down into the torso to make the hole, and then do the same for the head.

I will look around my LHS over here in Oki. I thought I saw some there by Tamiya or Hasegawa, but I am not sure.
Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

1/35 german soldier digging/entrenching?

Anyone know of any kits that have a German soldier either digging a hole with a shovel or entrenching tool?

On that note, A figure that could be Easily modded to be holding a shovel would work.  I found one in a tank mechanics set, but the guy isnt looking down, and I dont know how to mod necks.
