Academy German SS Infantry
Posted by Bwog on Sunday, November 23, 2003 9:19 PM
Does anyone know if Academy's 1/35 German SS Inf "Russia 1944" (Cat# 1378) is authentic? I've looked and can't find any references of this particular field uniform.

I'll appreciate any knowledge you folks may have on this.

Thanks in advance for your time and ensight!

On page 195 of my Camouflage Uniforms of the Waffen SS, There is a photo of a "SS winter anorak" manufactured in Italian camouflage material which was issued "very late" in the war. It has a fur lined hood and double breast pockets. It is the same cut as the model 1944 field-gray anorak. Some had fleece liners, others were lined with rodent pelts, some probably were only cloth lined. This is the only parka that even looks close to the box art.
