There was a young cowboy...

This is my last figure of 2008, Romeo's 54mm Cowboy 1865, finished on New Year's Eve morning. The base is somewhat small for the horse and rider, so I expanded it to fit the wooden base on which he is displayed. I added some water effects using Envirotex epoxy and Woodland Scenics Water Effects for the barrier and the splashes from the rocks the horse has displaced.

The horse was painted as a buckskin.

I assembled the rider separately but found I had to remove the right arm and left coat tail to fit him to the horse. I almost forgot the spurs and added them after the rider had been attached to the saddle. While this was a challenging task, they probably would have been detached if added before.

As a huge fan of westerns and a resident of Colorado, I give this Two big thumbs up Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup].

Very nice!  But his hat cord looks like it's in the way in some of the pics.  Don't know if you can do anything about that!  Other than that, Brilliant!!

Aja - Fantastic, I really like the Job you have done. Your color choice is right on Thumbs Up [tup] The Buckskin hoofs may be a tad to shiny, but water is close by so maybe he already got them wet.  I can hardly believe this is 54mm , Bow [bow]

Thanks for sharing and bringing back memories at the same time.

Very nice work...love the poses, can sense movement...I also, think the hat strap is a bit distracting, but from my point of view it is the "new" look it has...maybe a wash to dirty it up so it blends better???  Cowboy [C):-)]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks, Buddho. It helps that the sculptor, Gianni La Rocca, did a really good job giving the painter a great "canvas" to work with.
