Yes, IIRC, the Officer's uniform was made from a different shade/grade of wool. Also the Officer's cap would have different piping, metallic, instead of the branch specific color of the EM cap. I have a couple "Ike" jackets in my collection of stuff and they are closer in shade to the trousers on the guy in the pic, rather than the greener shade of that service jacket. Also the shade of the shirt worn under the jacket is shown for an EM with the cap tucked into the belt. The Officer's shirt is a dark Forest Green color.

It seems like the coat is the brownish OD wool service coat. I've been finding photos of the same color garrison cap on enlisted men (as above photos show) and a darker OD green cap for officers. Does this sound correct?

Here are 2 pics of a late summer 1944 101st airborne dress uniform:

The dress uniform was an Olive Drab wool. A darker browner shade. A bit greener than field drab 30118 and darker/browner than 34087. Lighter and more tan/brown than Green Drab 34086. I have never seen a good straight out of bottle match for it. But probably field drab is the best starting point.

Does anyone out there have any uniform color recommendations for a WWII U.S. paratrooper (dress uniform)?

Thanks in advance!
