Roman Soldiers and knights???
Posted by TacoBuff on Monday, February 2, 2009 10:34 PM

I'm taking a break from armor for a while (my last build left me pissed beyond belief, and quaking in rage) and I've always found figures relaxing to build, paint, etc.

I'd like to build some roman or knight figures, but can't seem to find many kits on the internet.  Help!  I figured I'd go here since you all seem to know what you're doing (and if you don't know what you're doing, you're doing a beautiful job faking it, lol.)

Any scale is fine, i'd even be willing to work with metal.  Thanks for the help all.

Verlinden carries a HUGE range of Roman and knight figures. Especially in 120mm. Check out ebay, they're everywhere there.

Good luck in your figure adventures .... and if one ticks you off, yo can always snap his neck! HAHA!!!

I'd say check out verlinden.  I have a few kits of theirs I got for christmas, I havent started them, but I did inspect them, and there quite amazing.  I didnt get any knights or roman soldiers, I did get a Samurai warlord, Napeolionic Drummer (I couldnt resist being a drummer) and a bust of a Croatian Hussar (so freakin funny, the outfit he has, I couldnt pass it up).  I have checked out their romans and knights though, very nice quality, I want to get the vinyiette of the viking attacking the monistary, and the one of the mounted knights fighting in the ice on a frozen lake.

Thanks guys, I found some neat figures on some of the sites, and I'll look into those.  Maybe Colorado Miniatures will give me a "Lives in Colorado" discount?!?

CO Miniatures is a good site. I've dealt with them before. Good selection as well.

Coming from a wargamer's perspective, how about Foundry's Imperial Roman selection? They also have Caesarians and Late Romans. They also have a wide selection of Medievals. These are in 28mm and are a joy to paint. http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/CR/index2.asp and http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/collections/index.asp
