Very nicely done, James!  I like your Tamiya Germans particularly.  You should take them to the shows.  Even if you don't compete (about which, I'm ambivalent), it's nice to see figures live, and talk live with the modeler.

Yes, very nicely done!

Brad

Those look real nice JWalker. I particularly like the gunners leather coat. Just the right amount of shine. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. Im also starting the build on a 1/16 dio. Will feature a Verlinden ruined building section. Figures will be Verlinden's Winter Warrior and Tamiya's Infantryman w/ MP44 and reversible winter uniform. Ill post another thread on this project soon.

Hey all. My name's James. Just signed on recently and have posted some pics of my other work in the Intro section. Just finished up the latest addition to my 1/16 figure lineup and thought I'd post some pics. Enjoy

Just completed Tamiya's 1/16 Elite infantry figure w/MP40. Lots of prep work went into smoothing out the seams but other than that it was a breeze to build. And provided me some room for add-ons. I painted the p43 camo using mixes of MM enamels Starting with a dark brown base, some field drab, then khaki and green for the spotting. I then used Tamiya and Testors Acryls for the washes and mixed in some dry plaster with some brown pigment to weather the boots (im out of talc and goldbond smells funny:). I added some foliage camo to the helmet with Woodland Scenics lichen and tall grass, glued them to a strap I made of some paper strips then wrapped the whole thing around the helmet. I also made a carrying strap for the MP40 from paper strip and fabbed a buckle with a small piece of aluminum from a soda can and two rods of stretched sprue to simulate a sliding buckle. I Also drilled out the barrel of the MP40.

The following are my 2 other completed figures also Tamiya. An MG gunner and Belt loader. Both painted with acrylics.

Future plans will be to make some dios with these. In the meantime I have a couple more figures to finish including a Verlinden 120mm Winter Warrior in which I plan on building a dio representing a snowy Eastern Front scene. Ill keep updating as i get started on those...Thanks
