Zombies?
Posted by Aaronw on Sunday, March 1, 2009 5:42 PM
Are there any good zombie related figures out there? Preferably 1/25 ish. I'm a big zombie flick fan and thought it would be fun to do up a couple. I'm planning a 1/25 zombie grocery getter truck so zombies relatively close in scale would be nice. Not planning a dio though so its ok if they are a bit out of scale.

There was a post on here not too long ago looking for Halloween type figure. Do a search and look for it. I know someone posted some pretty good pics as well.

Hope that helps.

Do a search for Jimmy Flinstone, they have a good line of car scale figures. Don't know if there are any zombies, tough. You'll probably have to mod some of the 1/24-25 figures. The Halloween related figures referenced above were 54mm (about 1/32) and would not work with your stuff.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks, I'll search for the halloween thread, it may be too small for the truck, but might still have something fun to paint.

I didn't think about the Jimmy Flintstone figures, not really what I was looking for, but could result in some fun figures zombie car hop, zombie bikini model, zombie Elvis etc. Big Smile [:D]

There is always one way to get zombie figures, the way real zombies are made.  Get a figure thats is close or exact to the pose you want, size and all, then scar it, maul it, damage it, paint it, bloody it up, and make it look like a zombie.  Did that with a broken nazi 1/35 figure I had, wasnt recieved well though

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] A zombie is simply a human who was infected with a virus or some kind of mojo. So modifying a regular fig' to zombie shouldn't be that hard. By the way what kind of zombies are you gonna be making? The 24 Days Later kind or the Dawn of the Dead kind?

I dont think there should be one or the other, there should be a mix, the 28 days later type are horrifying in their own right, but they always show in movies, someone being torn appart.  So its like... you see survivors being torn appart and such, but we know that if there bitten or even scratched, by most accouts, your turned into a zombie, so there will have to be zombies that are disemboweled and such.

I didn't see there were more replies. I haven't even remotely figured out the details, this all started when I found a bunch of zombie oriented pictures that I thought would make neat decals. That gave me the idea of a somewhat mad max appearing vehicle but with a zombie angle covered with public education information (how to identify a zombie, what to do if you see zombies etc) and sponsor decals (Stihl chainsaws, Remington shotgus etc), kind of like a "zombie nascar" truck. I haven't painted any figures for awhile so the idea of some zombies to go with the truck seemed like a nice excuse.

Very much still in the planning stages.
