Excellent job on the paratrooper!

Sign - Ditto [#ditto]...turned out really nice. Good job on cleaning up the resin figure. I just started working with some resin too, not always easy!

AJ is right, the transfer option for the unit and nationality markings are the best. 10 out of 10 for having a go at painting though!!

Just an FYI moment... I use Image Shack as well as Photobucket for model shots...I got way too many reference shots and stuff to risk just one account...  Although Image shack isn't as easy to catagorize as PB, it loads faster (on my machine anyway) and allows more picture-sizing options... It's free as well...

Whoopi! Bandwidth! Why not start another photobucket account? Then you don't have to pay a dime!

#1  I'll look into the Minart building, I love their 1/16 figures, so why not?

#2   Read my mind. that's exactly what i'm gonna do.

#3  I've changed the wounded guy, so he'll either be resting on the ground, or propped against something.  Though, if i can't find something to do with him, he'll go back to being carried

#4  He's actually throwing a grenade, but he is a little exposed ain't he? lol.  he'll find somewhere where he's less likely to get shot!

#5  The thing's almost built, and the tracks are in nightmareish conditions.  I'll ship you the box if you'd like.  but only if you pay shipping Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

lookin forward to seeing some pictures of your german tanker!

As said, I'm awaiting more figures in the mail tomorrow..  German tankers from Tamiya. I'll take one and slap on my Panzer I. Pictures to come Smile [:)]

Now for Dio...

#1. Get some bigger base, as said. May I suggest anything from Miniart?

#2. Have that "crouching" Nemrod American behind a wall, at the end of the wall, as he is preparing to run.

#3. Have that guy helping the wounded guy in the Verlinden set to be already partially in cover, runnning for better cover.

#4. Have the guy pointing in the Verlinden kit anywhere else than that place.

#5. Ship me the Panzer IV.

Good luck! Hope it helped!

And dio-ideas? Give us a picture of the box arts and we can help you better.

Never give up. It's a journey with no end. The learning is everything.

ain't that the truth!  Never give up huxy! you're an award winning figure painter after all! Placing is no joke my friend.  I'm still impressed by the face on your german.  I guess i should have provided pictures in the first place lol. here they are.

the kits i'm workin with.

The house that I've detailed with popsicle sticks and styrene bits

the cast of characters (minus one as he isn't built yet).  Yes, I know my painting is completely sporadic, oh well, LOL.

I would STRONGLY suggest you replace the flag and 82nd patches with Archer Fine Transfers. The US flag is nearly impossible to paint in 1/35, even by the best painters. The AA patch will look much better as a transfer as well.

If you don't want to spend anything, find them online and download them. Resize as you would clipart and print in color on white paper at the highest resolution. Attach with thinned white glue.

1/35 Nemrod Paratrooper FINISHED! and starting a dio WIP, help?
Posted by TacoBuff on Sunday, March 22, 2009 1:51 PM

Hello all!  So to celebrate the fact that my first year of college will be free, I went and bought a bunch of cheap on sale figures from squadron, and  one of them was the two paratroopers by Nemrod.  This was my first experience with resin, and he came out very well.  My best figure so far.  He'll be incorporated into a dio, where he, the figure that came with him, and Verlinden's "506th at Carentan" will all be in a dio.  So first, PICTURES! (oops, forgot to paint the helmet strap!)

I'm really happy with the way he came out, especially the free handed division patch (82nd) and American flag.

Now dio ideas.  I've never really done a dio before, and would like to use the 6 figures mentioned above in a dio.  The verlinden set includes a busted up wall, which i've started to detail.  I'd like a street, with the paras sort of scattered about behind walls and such.

How can i create cobble stones, and brick houses easily and affordablly?  I know tamiya sells a brick wall pack, and i might get that, and imporvise a little with it.

Thanks for lookin (all comments and constructive criticsisms welcome) and thanks for any advice!
