I deffinately need a trumpet with valves.  Bugels won't do...

Hadn't thought about the doll house stuff, or christmas ornaments.  Thanks guys!

I was thinking about Christmas ornaments as well. However, if you REALLY had to ... scratching one out of alum. tubing wouldn't be too hard. The bell would be the only piece that might be difficult.

For th 1/16 figure, try looking in a doll house store. There will likely be something, even the depiction of a Christmas toy one you can use to detail into a more realistic scale representation. It's a pricy option, but check around the figure sites for a military trumpeter. This will give you a 54m base to work from. Here's one.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

trumpets or trumpet player figures?

I need a trumpet (preferably in 1/16 or 54mm) to create a jazz trumpet player as a present for my trumpet instructor.  I found a cheap figure in squadron of a "Las Vegas Mobster" in 1/16 that I could easily convert to be a real swingin' cat (think Maynard man!).  In 54mm, I could make a state side WWII service man from my LHS into a memeber of an armed forces band.

If that fails, does anyone have the scratch building skills to make one, then post a WIP so I can create my own?  If you need reference photos, let me know, I own three trumpets.  a good trumpet player must have one for every occassion! (or in my case, one professional level one that i play, and decent one for marching band, and a chinese piece of junk that is now wall art!)

thanks,

Sam
