US Modern Tankers
Posted by BeltFed on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 4:00 PM
I am looking for 1/35 scale modern- day US tankers.  I kinda want them to be in/ around the hatches, so that rules Alpine's beautiful offerings out.  As another ristriction, the figure(s) has/have to be accurate for the Iraq war in 2004.  Let me know what you can find!

I think that you're going to be dead on with those Alpine figs. You also might have some look search ebay with "Hobby Fan".

I think Trumpeter has a set coming out soon. Or if you can get some torsos with the IBA/OTV and use Dragons older 80s/90s era figure set. They would be good at least thru late 2005 when the ACUs came in to use. The CVC helmets have not changed to my knowledge.

stik is correct. When I was there in 07, our CVCs were just the same ol' thing. The other thing to keep in mind is if they're going to be in the hatches, you're really not going to see much of them anyway. Going with an older kit will most likely save you some cash and they'll be a little easier to get ahold of.

Bought a set of Verlinden Tankers from Ebay.. Could only use one in the dio I planned because the other two were modeled with goggles down... Worked out though... I needed the CVC helmets too, so I cut off the heads and drilled the faces out of the helmets...
