And your ability to kind of "dress up" the older kits to make them as detailed as the newer Gen2 stuff. Use masking tape and styrene parts, copper wire, 2 part sculpting epoxy- whatever you can think of to add straps, pocket flaps, slings, pouches etc, radio equipment, etc.

Should be able to mix & match, I do all the time... Depends on what you want I guess.. None of my guys are ever straight out of the box anyway. I mean, I chop 'em up and pose 'em so they aren't recognizible as any one company's figures anyway... I don't like folks to be able to tell what set I used just by looking at my dios... Just keep in mind that you don't have any riders who cover optics or block the muzzle of the coax .30-cal... Both "sit"-u-ations are BIG no-nos... (Sorry, couldn't resist that one)

Essentially, will the Tamiya/Reg Dragon figs look horrible when put with Gen-2 guys?

That's essentially up to you and your painting skills..

Question on tank riders
Posted by Boba Fett on Saturday, May 23, 2009 12:40 PM

I plan on doing a dio including multiple U.S. GI's riding on a Sherman. I know Dragon makes a set of Gen-2 riders, but there arn't enough figs. Question, does Dragon have more Gen-2 tank riders, and if not, will combining regular Dragon figs or Tamiya figs with the Gen-2 riders look bad? Essentially, will the Tamiya/Reg Dragon figs look horrible when put with Gen-2 guys? Thanks for any help.
