what I've been up to lately. Various fantasy figures.

I picked these guys up from the LHS a few days ago.  They were all on sale Big Smile [:D]!  I also picked up some more MM acrylics to see if i liked 'em, and was very impressed with the results.  I might slowly phase out my tamiya paints with these, at least until I can get my hands on some Vallejos.  Anyway, I enjoyed painting these guys, and was able to finish them pretty quick since I have nothing to do lately, and I've been plagued with terrible insomnia.

This guy's shield was amazing, how they packed that much detail onto that thing is beyond me!

Some of you might recognize Russell Crowe, from Gladiator. He was really a joy to paint, and I made a custom blend of colors for the light blue.  His face is one of my best I think.

These two are apparently from a war game, tho I'm not sure which one. They are Crusader officers, and were alot of fun to paint. I'm especially proud of the guy with the giant sword.

and finally, what i consider to be the Darth Vader of the fantasy world.  I'm not quite happy with this one, and may repaint him, any suggestions?

Thanks for lookin'! All constructive comments and criticisms welcome!

Wow Taco. These are very well done figures. Are they like 1/48thish size?

Not into fantasy, but I can appreciate the paint job and weathering

Thanks Sterno, no, there's no assembly except for like, glue an arm into place kinda thing. Lets you really concentrate on the painting.

Psstoff, Thanks!  These are i think 25mm, don't quote me on that. They're a little bigger than 1/48.  Glad you like the finished project.  I'll be using these guys for the games of dungeons and dragons me and my friends have started playing.

I hope to update with more finished figures in the next day or so. Stay tuned!

Thumbs Up [tup] It was fun looking at your fantasy figures... nice break from WW2 figures for now.  Very nice detail work on the sheild as it caught my attention right away.  I agree with your comment about MM acrylics... I use enemal too since my favorite LHS doesn't supply Vallejos.

glad you like them deafpanzer!  It is a nice break from the same old same old kinda stuff.  WWII is interesting and all, but you can only paint some many feldgrau uniforms before you lose it, lol.

Very nice work indeed... I say your faces comes out extrodinary!

As for the scale, if they are Games Workshops size (Warhammer) they'd be 28mm, or 1/56th scale.  But due to the nature of wargame miniatures, they seem bigger than 1/48th.. That's because they are designed to be moved around very much, and therefore they mould them thicker, so they don't break to easily.. Smile [:)]

But as said, very nice work!  I'm in the process of painting an Imperial Guard soldier from Warhammer 40.000.

Check it out, if you want!

Part 2 is already up, and Part 3 is being uploaded at the moment.. Big Smile [:D]

take care, and keep up the great work!!!!

thanks Grimmo and Huxy!  It is nice to mix up the subject matter every now and then.  I've  got a buddy who plays warhammer, and he's trying to get me started in the game "If only so you can show off your skills" he says.

I'm watching your vid right now huxy, loving the norway pride opening!
