I made some progress tonight. First things first, here's a picture of the dude I am working on from the box:
If anyone has any color call outs, I would be, as always, grateful
Here's the torso, i left the arms off, at least for now, one of his hands is on his hip and I felt like it would be easier to paint the hand off, then attach it. There appear to be very tight seams on this guy.
Here's the head with the progress tonight, specifically more highlights, 5 oclock shadow, courtesy of Bodge's toot, hair, and heargear. I actually started with a flesh wash to tone down the very dark shadows on the cheek creases, I like the look after.
A before picture
ANd the after shots, sorry about the strange angles, I mounted him on a giant Chinese food toothpick I found in my dinner last night, and the length screws up the juggling act I know as using macro setting.
Here is a comparison shot: my second figure, Boxer Hans, and the new guy on the block, Resin Rolf
I also worked on that Hornet tanker head, here's the start of the night
And a comparison with Disco Franz
And the after, again, I used a flesh wash to tone down the shadow which I felt was too stark, highlghted and feathered to the best of my ham handed ability, gave him his teeth using off white and flesh to tone it down, eyebrows, hair, and a base coat on the cap. Away we go with pictures
Lastly, a secret message to Schnobs:
