Lookin' good al-round ... but here my crit of it thus far.

The skin tones are nice and the scruff is a nice touch. I think the lips could be toned down JUST A HAIR. Really ... not much, just a tad. As far as the teeth ... from the pics that look fine as is ... maybe just add a wash to them.

Boba Fett just wrote a nice little tip on doing the eyes. You might want to check it out .... I'll have to search for the post link ...

Other than that, I think you're on track. I was re-looking at the jacket previously posted and it might be the lighting, but it looks like it could use just a tad more depth. But like I said, maybe the lights are washing out the shadows and I can't see them.

Thanks for the crit on the Young figures .... might just have to check them out. Keep up the progress .... it's coming along nicely.

Been doing some more work on this guy and I feel I need some feedback on the face so far.

I have chosen to make him a bit battle weary after hard fighting with 1st Armored Division, "The Old Ironsides" in Italy at the end of the war.

The teeth are not done, he lacks eyebrows and a couple of other things as far as I'm concerned.

Comments and critique on improvement are highly appreciated...

Thanx for the kudos guys, I really appreciate it! Smile [:)]
I'm working on the face at the moment...can't say that it's an easy task thou...

@modelchasm: The Young stuff are just plain great! The casting is superb, as well as the sculpting. Nothing to worry about when buying Young's stuff.

Wow ... I'm sorry that I've missed this one thus far. I definitely will be staying close to this one from now on.

I was looking at Young's stuff and was thinking about getting his new 1/10 Marine bust ... How's the quality of the casting?

Fantastically done! I agree with Mic Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Great job on the highlight/ shaddows, no complaints from me! That button really adds that extra detail, and 1/10!! Huge. Great work. Don't forget to paint that sergent/ brigade patch on his arm! (Though I doubt that you will, Forgot you weren't done. Whistling [:-^])

Ultra-fine shading and highlighting. Knocked out. As Mick Jagger once sang, I just wanna see his face.

Had to have something to do when the crappy weather struck so I picked a bust I bought a while back down from the shelf.
The bust is a great piece from Young Miniatures in 1/10 scale.

I wanted to try something a bit larger than 1/35 figures, and I also wanted to try oils over acryllics, just to see if I could cope with it.
I primed the bust with Tamiya Primer and painted the various base colors with Vallejo acryllics.
The oils used are a mix of 502 Abteilung and Windsor & Newton.
Started with the torso, just to turn things kinda upside down  ;)

Here's how far I've gotten. The sheen is due to the oils having a very long drying time.
