LRDG 1942

Here is Young Miniature's 70mm British LRDG 1942 painted in acrylics. The figure came with a second head wearing a beret with the LRDG scorpion pin. I chose this head because the cface looked a bit more worn. While I had some difficulties getting the coat right, the most challenging aspect of the kit is the right hand/Thompson. The gun is in four parts: the strap (that's okay), the hand/stock/receiver (all right) the magazine (makes some sense) and the barrel from the magazine forward leaving an incredibly small attachment point (which is too small to pin) to the rest of the gun. I had to reattach it numerous times, and no, it wasn't damaged in transit, since I saw at least a couple in the box like this. The kit comes with a nice engraved name plate and a smallish base. I used a base I picked up from Thomas Art bases, IIRC and blended the kit base to the edge of the burl. The name plate fit just about perfectly on the front of the base.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
