Agreed that Shenadoah has some of the best figures in the most versatile poses. Go to Military Miniatures Warehouse (http://www.milminwh.com) for the best selection (and service) for Civil War miniatures.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

You can also find old Airfix Civil War figures in 1/72nd scale that can be useful.

Imex makes the best plastic Artilery figures. they are in 1/32 scale or you can buy them in 1/72 scale. I know that they make a 1/72 accessories kit. Marx makes a 1/32 accessories. Italeri makes an artillery set that includes a fort.
Italeri Makes good cavalry as does Imex. You'll probably get a few of the same poses when buying these. All of these figures can be bought at www.toysoldierco.com I hope this helps.

small civil war dioramas

I normally do aircraft but want to do some small civil war dioramas. Maybe a cannon with accompanying men, maybe a cavalry patrol. Who is the best manufacturer of figures, what scale and who has the best accessories, cannon, horses, that sort of thing. I am looking for variety in figures and not 50 that have the same pose. I am also not talented enough my self to shape or make things from scratch. I want to buy figures, paint them accurately, and place in a unique setting.

If you were to ask me about WWII aircraft, I would say Tamiya hands down. How about civil war figures from you guys? I need help selecting.
