Hey Buddy~ I like this figure , those British Paratroopers have always been heros of mine. Quite a brave, rugged bunch, and not often enough modeled. What you've got here is a really strong start, but I don't think you're done. Mostly the entire thing lacks lights. Just doesn't look right.
That is, not only highlights, on the top-most areas of each color, but also the mid-light between the light color and what you have here(I would call a good base or mid or mid-dark) These Dennison smocks are just MUCH more faded out. Your colors are darkly blocked in---on the webbing gear too(yours looks a bit like well-tanned leather) this color is a difficult one to nail down,, but really a lightened khaki is close enough(although troops would sometimes field-dye all the gear a O.D. to take the brightness off it, so green webbing is also seen.)Your trouser color (and helmet) are the closest to correct. Besides The color issues, the sheen is killing the effect, when your all finished a spray of Dull-coat is a MUST.--Also avoid flash photos(is that what this is?)
I'll give you a great reference for what these uniforms looked like in action. these are some British re-enactors that really go to pains to get things right. Study the look of thier gear, you'll see what I mean, and what to do. http://www.1stairborne.com/ Painting camo patterns in larger scale take some serious work to make convincing, you may want to search for some article on that. Good Luck
