I'd say that based on weathering, frequency of washing, sun fade, replacements, creating variations with garments, etc. close is good enough. Include that its a figure, and put it into context of its setting and you could get by with a range of colors. With base coat, highlights and shading:
857 golden olive
850 medium olive
967 olive
968 flat green
922 us uniform
970 deep green
to start. Your best bet is to go to the vallejo site, peruse their color chart and make a decision of what you want to buy and go from there. If you're worried about picking up extra paint, look to see what basic colors you want to buy and mix your own highlights and shading from what you have. (i.e. a little blue to darken, a little yellow or flesh to lighten)
