My Latest Fantasy Figure
Posted by rjkplasticmod on Thursday, February 11, 2010 6:44 PM

Did this for a figure painting GB on another Forum & thought I'd share it here as well.  It's a 28mm white metal figure from Ral Partha.  Labeled as an "ARISHAI", but I have no idea what that is.  Lacking references. I just painted it as a "Blue Beastie" Smile

Painted with Vallejo & Citadel Acrylics.

Thanks for looking.  Comments welcome.

Regards,  Rick.

Hey Rick, if you don't mind me burnishing my geek cred Wink

Actually it's spelled abishai and it's a baatezu or devil from the Dungeons and Dragons universe. They were created back in the 1st edition of the game as servants of Tiamat, the goddess of evil dragons so since in D&D evil dragons come colour coded in white, black, green, blue, and red abishai come in a similar mix of flavours. So even if you're not familiar with the game painting it blue fits perfectly... Yes

And BTW great figure!

Thanks for the info Gamera.  I'm not a gamer but I enjoy painting the Figures associated with the Games.  I was sad the day Ral Partha went out of business, although Reaper & Citadel still offer some pretty cool figures.

Thanks for your comments, Glad you like the Figure.

Hi Rick,

Great job on the figure!  I cannot believe you squeezed all that detail onto a 28mm model.  Awesome!!

Well, wish I knew as much about a subject actually useful rather than useless trivia like D&D monsters...Big Smile

Ral Partha did great stuff, Dark Sword Miniatures is a pretty new company with outstanding figures you might find interesting. I suppose I'm out of gaming now- seems it got to every group was more interested in starting inter-party arguments than getting anything done. When I get mad at my airbrush I'll pull out a figure and work on it since I can do the whole thing with just a brush.

If you've got any more just lying around post 'em I'd like to see 'em. Maybe I'll root around and see what I've got that looks decent.

Thanks! Cliff

Thanks Fast Eagle, appreciate your comments.

Cliff, thanks for the suggestion, I"ll have to check them out.  I have about 200 of these painted & at least that many unpainted.  I do them as stress relievers while working on more complex aircraft or Armor models.  I'll dig through my photo archives & see what else i can post.

Regards,  Rick
