Thanks for the comments renarts.

The leg joins look OK in real life, it might be the issue of the lighting and camera picking up and lightening the joins making them more visible than they should be. I'll be certain to triple check the joins next time I build one. Thanks for pointing that out.

The base is fine too. I added some felt underneath so it wont scratch my display case - I think this is what makes it look a little warped.

Glad you guys enjoy this one! Smile

I like what you did on this. Looking at your in progress shots I can see what you were talking about with the casting issues. The molds on this one look like they've seen better days or a blind man made them up. A credit to your percivierance and ability. The coloring and markings is great, especially since the latest release and report of work done on protein color formations in fossilized dinosaur remains and skin impressions and scale development and mapping allowing researchers to determine coloring and configuration. Seems they were very colorful and had stripes and banding. Lots of variation and coloring opportunities.

My only critiques are that there are still some evident join marks where feet and legs are joined. A little more build up around these areas and some more work here would have made these seamless. And the resin base from your finished shot looks a little warped. A supplementary base, and some add on to this to cover up the gaps where base meets surface would have added so much more to an already impressive project and not detracted from something that you obviously put alot of time, effort and care into completing making it a more finished display.

Great stuff. More please.

My latest Dino build, the Protoceratops :

There were a few casting errors to overcome but otherwise it was a quick and easy build.
