im very familure with gullie suits i wore 1 in the army for a time. we made them out of 3/8 inch netting with burlap jute and anything else we could stuff in it to make it blend in to our surrondings. my problem is scaleing it down, im not too good with 2 part epoxy not saying its not a bad idea just dont have alot of experence in working with it. i know it sounds stupid but i also have 1 hanging in my closet for when i deer and hog hunt, and just like real life its always changeing. anyother ideas you might have or maybe even articals you can send me links to to see how i can either scale down something like loose pack gauze or how to work with 2 part epoxy? after all the more experence the better.

Maybe this will help... the forum search tool isn't working right despite several attempts to type in 'sniper' or 'ghillie' but I remembered the great snipers wearing ghillie suits posted by Modelchasm few months ago and it was one of best I have seen wearing those ghillie suits. Good luck!

I have not tried it yet, but the only thing I can think of to give a ghillie like effect in 1/35 would be to use pencil sharpener shavings or something similar glued on to your sniper figure and then painted in varying green/brown/tan hues. I have seen stuff off spice racks (not sure what sort of spices, cloves oregeno or whatever) used in a similar manner on to gauze for an excellent 1/35 modern camo nets.

Just a thought, take twine, and cut it to equal lengths. separate strands into clumps of 2-3. Put a slow-setting superglue gel on a small area of the figure. Place with tweezers. that should work... never tried it, but looking at it, it might mork.

Thanks for the "plug" DP .... Glad those can still be found on the forums.

The figures I used are by CMK and can be found on their website. I was there just the other day looking for something else and noticed that they were available. They are pretty rough looking sitting by themselves, but they look really good if you add them into a scene. The thing that I really liked about them was that you can put them in a scene pretty much from Korea - present. The only thing youd have to change out would be the rifle .... and that might be a little tricky, but its possible.
