Quick Figure-Early German Tanker
Posted by I make stuff on Saturday, April 17, 2010 10:20 AM

In between projects, I decided to brush up on my figure skills.  This is an early German Tanker from Squadron/Warrior, it's a nice figure but I swapped out the head for a different warrior head.  He's mostly done, but not sealed up.

I painted this with Vallejo acrylics, followed with some oil washes of raw umber and then cadmium red.   I switched from vallejo's flesh tones to a hand mixed cork brown aden iraqui sand, to me it's a lot closer to real skin tone.

I'm not totaly happy with the skin tones yet, but I'm getting better.  I think this is my 6th figure that I have completed, so I am a newbie.  That's the 3d figure in the photo showing two, I like the skin on the new guy a lot better.  Any and all comments welcome.

Good job my friend....Your skills are coming along!  The pallete looks right, your colors are really good--this guy looks more like a lady-killer than a tank-killer but hey ya know! Zip it!
I'd like to see you at work on an even better sculpted figure.....so keep rolling 'em out OK?

Well and truly off to a good start there! I think they both look quite ok. Your faces aren't too bad. I guess time and practice will be the solution, but i don't think you have far to go before you are painting a great face..Yes
