Here is Thunderbird Miniatures Creole Guide in 54 mm resin. He comes with the dog but has no base. I used a La Meridiana resin base with Envirotex water, Scenic Express cattails, Hudson and Allen leaves, Silfor grass and Joe Fix bushes. He is painted in acrylics with some oil washes in the more textured areas of the base. The dog is painted as a blue tick hound which was developed in Louisiana. This took a first in Vignettes at Noreastcon a couple weeks ago on Long Island.

I can see why you won a first place! Great figures, beautiful base, I even love the posing!

For some reason the friendship of the guy and his dog gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Kudos sir!!!

Hey Doog!

Nice work, Al. Precision painting as always, like the groundwork. Dog is superb.

I like how you paint your blues, I have a hard time with the tones.

Thanks for the nice comments.

I was happy with how this came out, too. In the close ups, the dog does seem to have a very typical dog looking at his master experssion. .

On the blues, I used a base of Vallejo sky blu or deep sky blue...haard to tell them apart once they are out of the bottle. In hte shadows, I used a very thinned dark blue. One of the beauties of Vallejo is that even very thinned paint will neither bead up nor over spread so you can maintain a lot of control. Since the folds were pretty sharp edged, I did very careful dry brushing with ivory.
