KW: here's another site that might be of some use. Lots of beautiful painted figures in their gallery:

Couple things for you.

First off for the fingers drill holes in the ends and glue in some wire than use Magic Sculpt or Aves Apoxie to rebuild them.

If you intend to get into figure kits a couple suggestions,

1. sign up over on the Clubhouse forum, it's all about figures, while a lot are horror sci-fi and realistic babe kits there are some there that doe really good anime figures.

2. get the David Fisher DVDs, they cover assembly, painting pastels and more. (including fixing fingers)

3 there are some pre-made flesh paints out there but many people mix their own, the D Fisher DVD's show you how.

Clubhouse recommended dealers.

I started collecting figures mainly life like females about 2 or 3 years ago.

While I have a few assembled I haven't set up my air brush area yet to paint them, I have all the supplies just no area to paint yet.

This will get you started.

p.s. don't buy kits off ebay, especially from Bangkok, Thailand, they are recasts.

Help with my first figure.

My wife picked up  a number of years ago a resin anime kit figure (Shampoo from Ranma 1/2) and I've had it kicking around, built and crappily attempted painted (my first run in with acrylics, not pretty). Anyway stripped it all back a couple months ago was able to remove appendages with no problems and cleaned up well, then rassembled, sanded and primed. I need to clean up the areas made obvious from the priming then I start on paint which brings me to my problems.

One- 4 broken fingers on one hand, I was thinking miliput or similar to remodel them, Any better ideas?

Two- This is actually my first figure and tips on doing skin, I figure skin color. I've got some humbrol acrylic flesh, can anybody suggest a better tone to start with before mixing for shades etc?

Shampoo Primed, you can see gap in leg joined waiting to be puttied
