One detail modelers over look is people are different heights. Look at any photograph of a column marching and the soldiers vary quite a bit in height. Germans are generally taller people and some were over 6' tall in WWI. Because the figure is made for a tank hatch it may still work for you.

Remember people were shorter at the turn of the century in general. Suits of armor that are a few hundred years old is a good example of this.

Your figure is probably scale correct for a WWII Japanese soldier. Not a German or perhaps a short one.Hmm

DP: I was joking but I'm glad you were able to make something out of it. I'd hate to see a nicely sculpted figure like that thrown away or just used for practice painting. In fact you might try something like him and his 'dad' standing in front of a panzer while a crewman with a camera snaps a photo.

Just my two cents anyway Wink

Agreed on Asian vs. North American based producers creating wildly different figures in the same scale. When I put Testors modern US Navy deck crewmen up agaisnt Hasegawas deck crewman, the Testors looked well above average for the typical Navy crewman.  I had to space those figures out to create a distance effect...

Gamera, thanks!  I really like your idea... boy trying to dress up like his daddy.  Looks like I will not let my boys shoot at it with their BB gun after all.

Manny, I agree I really liked the figure as it has nice details... too bad I will not be able to use it for my Stug B which is about 95% completed.  I will post the pictures in Armor when it is completed.

The figure is sculpted and painted by Japanese Master Modeler Doi--a very good and respected dioramist...one thing to keep in mind is that most figures these days that are advertised as 35th scale are actually larger, in some cases by a wide margin, than 35th---most hover around 32nd scale.  Japanese companies tend to produce figs that are closer to true 35th scale.  Having said that, it looks far too small for 35th...

Thanks Indy!  I am so glad that I saved $1.50. LOL  Thanks for the info... that figure on the left from Colorado Mini will work perfectly for my Stug III.  I will see if I can order those... I am not sure if my wife will let me because I already spent $70 online for more Verlinden figures and accessoires.  But today is my 40th birthday and since it is happening on Father's Day, maybe I can get away this time.

Guys, I am with you... thought maybe I could turn it into a boy but the gears are very small.  I will see what I can do with it... have a great Father's Day out there!

Thanks for the warning Andy- that's a BIG difference!

Maybe you could use him as a Hitler Youth dressing up to be 'just like daddy...'

Way too small for 1/35, but also looks too big for 1/48.

~Yep Andy--I see it's suposedly 1/35th, I found the listing for it--LionMarc handles these here

The good news is you saved $1.50 off retail! LOL       I haven't built 1/48th yet either but that looks roughly the size--maybe someone else will wager an opinion.

As for a better Panzer commander for you--try  Colorado Miniatures for TANK figurs-they have alot of killer ones to fit the bill (more than $10 though)

Yup, it says 1/35 on the box at bottom and left.  Hard to see it on the picture I took.  Normally I buy Verlinden  and Dragon figures... recently Apline figures as I really liked their details.  Thought I'd help you save your $10... I might save it for 1/48 but I never built one before so I have no idea how big it is. LOL

Wow-Andy--that IS dinky.--

-save it for a 1/48th scale build!! You may want to do one sometime!

Does it say 1/35th on the box?

I'll tell ya Buddy, every Asian made figure I've seen is smaller(not that small, but smaller than anything else called 1/35th scale----The Asian artist just has a different view of what a persons size is) usually the difference is just slight, but still very usuable(Like Dragon & Alpine)--but that one is nuts--But, like some Tamiya driver figures I've seen)

Beware of Passion Models figures

I bought this resin kit of figure German tank commander from Passion Models via ebay for $10.  It was a BIG mistake... want to find out why??? Just scroll down...

Passion Models German Tank Commander w Binoculars 1/35

I thought this figure looked good when I was looking for one to go with my Stug III B that I am working on for Turretless GB.  But the size of figure wasn't really in 1/35 scale... too small... maybe 1/48?  Who knows he is really a midget.  You can see it standing next to another figure but from Verlinden.

I just wasted $10... I don't want to deal with ebay and the seller over this.  I guess I will let my boys shoot at it with our BB gun one day. Blind Fold  Thought I would warn you not to buy figure kits from Passion Models.
