Minuteman April 1775
Posted by ajlafleche on Monday, September 13, 2010 7:50 PM

Here is Michael Roberts’ 54mm interpretation of Isaac Walton, ancestor of a friend of mine. I painted him up as a Lexington Minuteman on the morning of 19 April 1775. The wall is a Bayardi casting. I envisioned the figure firing on the retreating British from the north side of what today is known as battle Road. Since this is mid April, the north side of the wall would not yet be getting a lot of sun, being in the shade of the wall, thus the grasses have yet to green up while on the other side, the southern sun has caused the shrub to begin to leaf out and some of the grasses to turn green.

Outstanding work! Yes  Keep posting those figures from the American Revolution... it sure is a nice break! Please tell me you didn't paint the stone wall.  It looked too real... pebbles?

Thanks...yes, the stone wall is painted. It's a resin casting by Armand Bayardi. Here's a B&W photo of the wall as you would buy it:

Thanks for the info on the stonewall! Yes That would look great for WW2 figures too.  Saw plenty of those in England but not sure if France has plenty of those too?
