For 1560 those Symbols are all wrong.  At the time the Shogun was either the Ashikaga Shogunate ruled by Ashikaga Takauji, which use this flag and was located in Kyoto.

The Ashikaga Shogunate was overthrown in 1600 by Tokugawa Ieyasu which lead to the Tokugawa Shogunate, whos flag was .

The Tokugawa Shogunate lasted until it was dismantled by a series of events of the Meiji restoration which restored Imperial rule to Japan and removing the Shoguns from power.  Meiji was the grandfather of Hirohito, the Emperor of Japan during WWII

Well, duh.  If I'd paid more attention to the title plate on the diorama, I wouldn't have sounded so dumb. Embarrassed

James Clavel's Shogan is one of my top five favorite reads.

Love the japanese figures, but thats an odd choice for the coloring and clan symbol.  I dont recognise it at all.  Each clan used a specific color and symbol, it was their flag, they didnt have multiple colors with the same logo, or diferent symbols on the same color.

IIRC those are very similiar to clan marings used in the mini-series "Shogan".  Could be wrong, I'm working from memory.

Well done, though.  Lord Toronaga would be pleased. Yes
