WW2 Military Figures 1/16th scale - where?
Posted by D'Artagnan on Monday, February 21, 2011 3:34 AM

Hi

I'm looking for 2 WW2 figures in 1/16th scale to build as presents for some friends.

One needs to be an SS Captain dressed either in the black or grey uniform, but preferably the grey. With the cap rather than the helmet.

The other needs to be an American officer in jacket and trousers, again with cap rather than helmet.

I've looked at a variety of scales and think that 1/16th would be most appropriate, but if anything else can be sourced (I'd rather not go any smaller though), I'm willing to change.

As a secondary plan, I'm willing to look at an American GI and a German/European/Russian civilian - 101st Airborne style. Again, same scale or larger.

Can ANYONE suggest where I might be able to find these. I've checked out the 1/35th Tamiya stuff and while they look great, they're a little small. PLEASE, ideas?

Thanks

Search Dragon's site or Squadron mail order's. Both have the 1/16 scale figure you are looking for, most have options that include helmet or cap.

A Google search will turn up possibilities.

Or, we could just try to help you.

Try S&T, Airborne Miniatures, Alpine, AC Models, Maurice Corry... one good online source in the US is Colorado Miniatures

I realize that... and mine was to help out a new member who asked a legitimate question within the appropriate forum.

Now Smeag, It wasn't all that long ago you were here and posting the same types of questions.

My reply afforded the fellow more than one alternative.

Actually, your reply was no help whatsoever. You think I hadn't already trawled through Google looking for the right stockist? I asked here because you guys are the experts and could possibly offer me a shortcut to finding the models I needed. What I didn't need was a patronising response and an education in Search Engine Optimisation.

Please, yours was not the help I needed or expected.

Mr 4th musketeer, I suggest you check the link I gave, I trust that site and they have great shipping times and prices, plus a fairly large stock catalog.
