First off, only 1 PLT (4 tanks) of USMC M1A1 Abrams have been sent to A'stan and only a few months ago.  If you are using an M1A2, it needs to be Iraq.  Master Box does a great set of Iraq Insurgents in plastic.  They are the only ones in plastic I know of.  There are more sets in resin by Verlinden, Warriors, and a couple others.

For general knowledge, ICM does a set of Afghan Mujehadin in plastic.  There are lots of Mujehadin/Taliban figures in resin as well.

Hey!

So, I'm planning on making a diorama centered around a Tamiya 1/35th scale M1A2 Abrams, set in either the Iraq or Afghan war. I've got everything I need, but I'd like to add some Iraqi soldiers or Taliban fighters into it to add a bit of interest. However, I can't seem to find any good 1/35th scale models of either.

In fact, that's going to be the deciding factor of whether it's going to be se in Afghanistan or Iraq; which models I can actually find!

I'm relatively new to diorama building, so I figured you all would know much better than I when it comes to where to look. Any decent 1/35th Iraqi army or Taliban figures will work. If you know of any good Mujahideen models those would work fine for my purposes. This is just for fun so it doesn't matter much to me if everything is perfectly accurate.

Thanks for your time!
