Ok, so it's nice to know I'm not completely nuts, i finally found an example on eBay by doing a year search followed by spiderman in toys and hobbies.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Spiderman-Super-Hero-Model-Kit-MPC-Sealed-1978-/110711337232

It was issued in 1978 by MPC and was a snap together model.  Maybe I'll be able to find an example next month when I have to money and I'll buy it at the same time as the Cutty Sark

Raymond,

I cannot help you with your search, but, you might want to copy your message and post it in a few other areas (sci-fi, ships, general assistance, etc. etc. etc.). Billboard it all over the place,,,  couldn't hurt.

Best of luck with your search.....

Bill

Enjoy the ride!

Nobody has any ideas what this kit was, or who may have made it?  Maybe I was just completely off base and this was actually a toy or even a superman model or something.  Any hint that you guys have would be helpful.

Thanks

I remember doing 2 kits back in the late 70's/early 80's that I want to find and do again.  One was a Spider-man kit that I haven't been able to find anywhere (if I'm even remembering right).  I've looked on eBay but none of the kits look right.  I may be remembering wrong but I'm pretty sure the kit was prepainted, I think I remember gluing it together but it may have been a snap-tite and it had some kind of sticky putty that you put on his hand and feet to make him stick to the wall.  Does anyone remember what I'm talking about?  I'd appreciate any help you could offer me.  My grandmother would have found this kit for me at a flea market or yardsale, so I can't even be sure of the date of issue, except I know it would have been issued before 82.  Thanks for your help

The other kit is a Revell Cutty Sark, 3 foot long, that I've found examples of on eBay and will buy next month when I get the money.  That ship was about as big as I was and I remember spending hours working on it at the picnic table in the backyard of my grandparents house.

Again thanks for any help you guys can offer

Raymond
