ww2 ground crew colors.

Hello,evreyone

I just bought a  Verlinden 1:48 scale USAAF ground crew. It looks good exept one problem, I can not determine what color to use for the mecanics suit. the figures on the box look grey but I am a bit sckeptical of that road to take (If it is grey how would I shade it?)

Olive Green coveralls were pretty much the standard for USAAF. Many of Verlindens product photos look quite artfully eye catching but are historicly incorrect. The lighter color jacket is a khaki olive shade that turns more tan as it fades with age and use.

I always follow 'never use Verlinden to base paint colors' as a rule of thumb.

A great rule to follow!

Here is a site with great suggestions on how to paint US figures.
