Khe Sahn 1968
Posted by captfue on Monday, November 21, 2011 8:27 PM

:-[Here are a few shots of my latest figure, It repersents a US Marine taking cover during the siege of khe Sahn 1968. It's 1/16th scale made form recycled sprue. Not including the sandbags of the base it is made from twentyfive individual pieces, fifteen for the figure and ten for the weapon and assorted canteens ammo pouches, ect... The eagle globe and anchor of the Marine Corps is a copy of one of mine from my time in the corps.

The only sculpting I ever tried was back in college, so I can appreciate what you have done here from that point of view.  The anatomy looks spot on and he is definitely jumping downwards.  Getting his helmet straps and dog tags fluttering up in the air would make it that much more dramatic.  Difficult to tell with these pics, but his facial expression might be on the calm side?

Jack

Thanks JAck for your thoughts about this work. These pictures don't show alot of the details, and some portions will be added later (rifle sling ect..) Its face is anything but calm. Probely be after the holidays before I paint it. (love to sculpt ,hate to paint)
