Verlinden 1/16 - 120mm GB?
Posted by spiralcity on Sunday, November 27, 2011 10:15 PM

Would anyone be interested in a Verlinden GB? I never put a figure together before so this would be a learning experience for me. I sure hope thier are some takers on this.

You might get more takers in a 120mm-1/16 GB without limiting yourself to Verlinden. Maybe even going 90 to 120 mm would work.  While there are some good ones from Mr. V (usually very old sculpts)  many are poorly sculpted and have very stiff poses. It's not uncommon to have an open hand "holding" a weapon in violation of the laws of gravity. Mr. V's production methods almost always results in HUGE pour plugs if they aren't placed where tehy will need extremely careful removal and subsequent corrections.

Actually it dosent have to be Verlinden, any manufacturer will work.

I would be up for a 120mm group build.  Could start on Jan 1, that way if someone doesn't have a figure on hand then they have time to get one.  I've got my eyes on Alpine's BAR gunner.  That would be perfect for this GB.

I don't have anything in 120mm,  but I can try and find something.  If you decide to include 90mm as well then I'm in for sure.

PNG, I would like to keep it specific for the sake of the GB. 1/16 - 120mm,  we could start on Jan 1 and run the build to whenever. I dont feel we need a specific finish date, everyone can post their work as they finish, no rush.

I'm a complete rookie at modeling figures, so I feel this will be a great way to learn.

No problem.  I just had a 90mm shelf queen.  I usually paint 25-54mm figures so 120 scares me.  If this becomes official I'll get a 120mm figure.  Sounds like fun.

I have Pili Pili's 120mm "Hawkeye"  in my gray army queue, so I'd be game.

I'm about 90% sure I'll be in the GB with Alpine's BAR gunner.

I am interested. I have several 1/16 figures on the way should be here before Christmas. I to have never built or painted a figure ,so this should be a fun learning experience. I will post what figure I am doing when they get here.

ok this sounds intriguing, count me in if there is room - never done it before so if there are any rules let me know how to bend them - I have a Dragon 1/16 "Red Devil" if that will fall in the 120mm GB (I know, closer to 1/15)

Irish3335, there's plenty of room for you to join. Your Red Devil fits the bill so i will add you to the list. I will have the GB up and running today.

Look for the 1/16 - 120mm Figure GB in the GB section sometime today, all the rules (which there wont be many) will be posted their.

Mike it's good to hear that your in on this, as stated above the GB will be found in the GB section later today.

Everyone else who replied will be added to the list also, as it stands I believe we have 6 members so far, 7 including me.

I don't think it's too late as the group build has no end date as of yet.  Come on over!

Just joined the forum and I have a 120mm verlinden figure inbound.

This will be my first in this scale.

Getting back into the hobby after a twenty + year break but would like to get into this group build if still open.

I like the open ended time frame and general laid back attitude of this challenge.

Suits and old fellow like me well.
