Chris, Very nice work.  I'm sure a nice break from the historically accurate, rivet counting stuff.  Good show!  Rick

Chris,

That is a great model.  I guess it would be termed a vignette, right?  Anyway, I think it is a very clever idea and you executed it well.  Congratulations on your award.

I really enjoyed the frustrated look on his face.  I am sure I've looked the same way myself many times.

+1 - That about covers it. Yes

Love the piece! Big Smile

Ha ha great job conveying a funny theme!Yes

The ironic thing is I just finished watching a T.V. special on Bigfoot, Yeti and Sasquatch.

I am sure we all had a moment like his, yelling in frustration over a model session going wrong.

    Hey guys,

Here's AMT's repopped classic Bigfoot, with a humorous twist.  Originally Bigfoot came with a plastic swamp type base in the kit, with some old tree trunks and skeleton parts.  His right hand was supposed to be holding a bone.  I got the idea of changing it so he was building a model instead, so I made some modifications.

The kit itself isn't so hot.  Parts fit is pretty much atrocious, leaving large seams to fill at almost every joint.  I filled a lot with strip styrene inserted into the seam, then glued with liquid cement to make a weld.  Molded detail is there, but I'd say not up to par with modern figure kits-although I have limited experience with large figure kits.  The tube of glue in his right hand is Milliput, with the dripping glue made out of melted clear sprue and EnviroTex Lite resin.  The plane in his left hand is the 1/144 Zvezda BF-109G.  I scanned the instructions and the box from the Zvezda model and shrunk them down, then cut them out.  Had to do some folding on the box flaps, but it came back together in miniature form alright.  I made an X-Acto knife out of metal rod and a broken X-Acto blade.  Then I gave him a cut on his foot as if he dropped the knife on his foot.  The shrubbery and terrain is Woodland Scenics stuff and celluclay on a wood base.  This took about two months to build, and I finished it up at 11pm the night before CoMMiESFest in Denver.  Anyway, here's some pics:

The '109 was built sloppily on purpose to portray Bigfoot's "skills".  ;)

Bigfoot shredded the 1st page of instructions in his frustration:

"Bigfoot Builds A Model"  won the Best Humor award at CoMMiESFest 2012.  The business cards are from actual Bigfoot investigation organizations in Colorado:

   Hope you enjoyed the pics!
