Nice work but be careful.  Painting war game figures can be very habit forming.  The figure you're holding is an early games-workshop figure.  I have a picture of that exact figure in a 1991 magazine of theirs.  The exact name is " Flash Git Nob with power claw and kustom weapon.  You can't make this stuff up.  lol   Enjoy yourself

Thanks falschimjager, It's difficult to tell, LostMiniatures Wiki is incomplete with lots of missing pics. I'll find out what it is eventually though, maybe I should take it to a wargaming shop? (If any are still around here, that is!)Tongue Tied

Looks good, I think that "Freebooter" may be one of the old Gamesworkshop space orks, but I could be wrong.

Very cool!!! Nice work!

I've got piles of old gaming miniatures, afraid after I dropped out of fantasy gaming I haven't touched them in years. I did pull one out over the weekend and fiddle with him a little though. They're a nice break when you get sick of messing around with the airbrush and just want to paint something with a brush.

You might check this site for more information, I'm sure there are better ones out there though.

Alternative Armies

I don't see Freebooter listed though I believe I do have some of their figures stashed away.

My First Lead Soilder Figurines!

A few days ago, I decided to open one of the boxes of scale modeling stuff my dad gave me, a box of assorted lead figurines dating from the 80's. The first two pictures are my first figure, a Greek Solider, followed by a painting sequence of a second one.

All hand painted by yours truly!

Next is a sequence of how I paint the figures, as well as pics of my stash...Whistling

The figure on a clamp with the paint holder next to it. On Both figures I used 9 different shades of paint!

First the armor color (base coat)-

Red highlights.-

Flesh tone added (model master wood)-

Black highlights.-

Cloth painted Polly Scale Earth Brown, silver highlights added, belts and sandles painted brown. Touch- up on some spots too.-

Model Master Italian Dark brown on the base, covered with a sprinkling of loose ground foam.-

The finished figures.-

Now for the stash, I think I have plenty to keep me busy!-

I eventually want to paint this figure, all it says on the bottom is "Freebooter." Hmmm...Hmm

Any posts welcome! (Remember this is my first attempt!)
