Please Critique my Juniors Entry for IPMS Nationals 2012
Posted by [So]Rice on Thursday, July 12, 2012 11:19 AM

Hello,

Here are some entries I have worked have worked on for IPMS Nationals 2012, let me know what you guys think and please critique them for me, thanks in advance. :)

First some Sci-Fi WWII from DUST, these are 1:24 Scale:

A Diorama in 1:35 Scale, same setting in DUST:

Aria in 54mm:

Gemini in 28mm Scale (not too happy with them):

Natchjager 1:48 from DUST, can't decide on these two pilots:

(Just realized the pictures blown up show the mistakes on the 1:48 and 28mm very well :( )

C&C Welcome, thanks!

Very nice...afraid I have never been a judge and am not qualified to say anything about them as they are way better than I could ever pull off.  You are right though...the camera will highlight any mistake you make.

I will say that the middle figure in the first picture looks like she has some...errr...ummm..."personal" issues going on.Whistling

Pretty impressive if you are in the Junior class...only issue that popped out was the fish-eyes on this fig:

Hello everyone, thanks for the comments!

@Hercmech: Well, I don't like her pose, but she was part of the set, she is a tank driver so you only have to see her head :)

@Manstein: Yes I know, I spent more time on the eyes than the entire figure, I can't really fix her unless I strip the entire paintjob, the paint layer on the left eye is much to thick at this point :(

Also, I am having trouble finding a person to proxy for me, originally I had a friend going, but not anymore. I am all the way in Texas and can't travel to Florida ^_^ So if anyone is going and is willing to proxy for me, please message me :)

For the scale, I think you've done a masterful job. I disagree about the eyes on the Nachtjager female pilot. They look fine. The male pilot, in pea dot, appears to have a bitmore lip than is needed.Even Mick jagger doesn't have lips that big! LOL.

I'm quite impressed with your skills as a junior. You're painting figures significantly better than a lot of adults I see posting on the various sites. Keep at it and some day you'll find yourself getting a Grand Master award.

Too bad you can't make it to the Nats. Now, for a fee and expenses, I'd be happy to fly to Texas get uyour stuff and be your proxy at the Nats! Whistling

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks ajlafleche :)

The second pilot is female also :) That is why her lips are so big.  ^_^

For proxy, I think thinking more of mailing the models (I would cover all the costs and whatever my costs are to enter the competition, etc.). So please let me know if you can help! My figures will get to the show... somehow.
