Great!  Thanks.  Yeah, these are hatless pilots standing along side their aircraft.  I was curious about the colors and that helps!  Much appreciated

Choose a color, black, very dark gray, dark brown, medium brown, ochre, or orange brown. Apply a dab with a fine pointed high quality brush at the temples for sideburns and a strip along and below the hat for the hair above the collar. No need for highlights and shadows in this scale. Remember, pilots are young and would have pretty short hair. If the figure were to be hatless, a highlight a line on either side of the part.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I dont do much in the way of figures but I need to find out the best way to paint hair on 1/72 and 1/48 pilot figures.  Any tips?
