1/25 or 1/24 Military Weapons for "Zombie Apocalypse Response Vehicle" build
Posted by Stephen_Social on Thursday, September 20, 2012 8:21 PM

So I was driving today and saw 2 identical cars tricked out like Umbrella Corp Zombie Response Vehicles fly past me on the highway. (Clearly heading to a promotional event of some sort)

It got me thinking, I'd like to take a stock compact suv model or maybe a jeep kit and convert it with a bunch of aftermarket parts into a scale Zombie Response Vehicle.

So I'm looking for modern military weapons ( automatic rifles, shotguns, knives, pistols, ammo) and also some more common household items (axes, chainsaw, golf clubs, baseball bats) and also survival supplies in 1/25 or 1/24 scale.

I've looked without success. Anyone know where I can find good weapons in this scale that aren't WW2 era?

This is the only one I've seen. Maybe you could buy a few sets and have at least a few shotguns.

That's at least a good starting point. Thanks dirkpitt77. I appreciate the help. Im starting to think I'm going to have to scratch build the freaking things or pay $30 for leftover and bent parts from some guys kits on ebay.

Sheriff Rosco's Police Car by MPC in 1/25 has a weapons sprue. This includes an M16, M1 Carbine?, Thompson Machine gun, Shotgun, and a mobile CB radio

Thanks guys, I was really hoping for more of a response, but still, thanks. Maybe I'll have better luck pretending I'm just building a 1/25 scale tank and asking the armor buffs?  lol

The issue is there are not a lot of 1/24 or 1/25 weapons out there since it is not a common military scale.  In 1/24 and 1/25, the most common subjects are civilian cars.

Your better bet would be to get a 1/32 diecast or snap-tite truck or jeep model and use 1/35 weapons and military accesories on it.  That would leave you wide open as to what you could do with it.

Here is an example of what can be done w/the 1/35 Meng pick-up as a Zombie killer.

The Meng Pickup is a good start for a post apocalyptic vehicle; particularly the version with all the supplies for the cargo bed area.

There are a number of 1/35th scale Humvees that can be re purposed with extra fuel tanks, supplies and weapons of all sorts. I'm currently building one.
