CA ("Super") Glue and Putty
Posted by Hondo467 on Monday, October 29, 2012 12:47 AM

I'm finishing a project and I am using Gorilla brand CA ("super") glue to bond a resin part to a surface covered with Tamiya modeling putty.  Will this type of glue adhere properly and form a very strong bond as it would for other surface types?  Thanks in advance for your input and advice.

The glue will bond tightly to the putty.  The putty may not hold to the plastic though and pull away.  If this occurs, simply re-glue part with the CA.  The CA will bond the putty to the plastic.

Thanks for replying...one part is resin and the other part is also resin but a portion of it has a light layer (about 1/16") of Tamiya modeling putty on it.  That shouldn't be a problem right?

No issue.  The same principles apply to the resin and putty.
