1/72 Orion-German Panzer Soldiers (Plastic Set 1) (IMG&Link Review)

Due to its features, I asses Orion’s “German WWII Panzer Soldiers (Basic Set 1) represents a milestone in the field of plastic toy-soldiers as well as the figure set of year 2012, at least in terms of WWII Germans if not otherwise.

Incorporating top-notch figures masterly sculptured by Mr. Boris Knokhov and previously issued in Orion’s resin range, the manufacturer should receive all credits and gratitude for taking the brilliant decision of making available for every hobbyist outstanding miniatures previously reserved only to most avid collectors. If for any of the three or four figure Basic resin sets the customer had to pay around 12 Euro, for the soft plastic edition, comprising four identical sprues, each accommodating thirteen poses, only around 10 Euro are charged. At present, an exclusivist category of toy-soldiers move to all interested persons, reaching even the wargaming table for a truly spectacular emergence.

There are almost no differences between the two types of minis, the producer succeeding to cast in an excellent manner the soft plastic army-men, the great majority of details emerging almost on equal foot at both the resin and soft plastic products.

While I consider this set the figure set of this year, I tried to make a special presentation for it and a very comprehensive review accompanied by lots of images is available on my website. I also converted each pose one time, so images with both standard & converted poses are delivered.

The photos included in this topic are only a few comparing with those included at the below posted link and provide much more information, black&white and colour photos, close ups with the figs and vehicles, crewmen in different settings with the vehicles etc.

The excellent tanks featured by the images are built & paint by my very good friend Cristi Atanasiu.

All that is involved in the below linked review&images really required a lot of work and I think it will be interesting visiting it. The direct link:
