BATMAN 1:25 scale All-Plastic Figure Set #937 review
Posted by SprueOne on Sunday, January 20, 2013 3:21 PM

I bought the Dark Knight double figure kit back in November 2012 but finally had time this weekend to test fit the rider to my Bat-Pod model.

The kit is by Moebius and is a 2 figure set in 1/25 scale (Part Number 937)

I am not very impressed with the sculpt and mold. It has about as much detail as a mid level action figure.

The parting lines and flash is heavy and abundant.

The assembly instruction sheets have Left and Right mixed up as well as part numbers inaccurately described. However, this is easily over come by the simplicity of the kit.

The arms, legs, torso halves and neck joints are keyed to fit one way. The assembly instruction sheets describe two ways to build the Rider figure depending on weather or not you have already completed the build of the Bat-Pod.

I had already built my Bat-Pod model and followed the directions accordingly.

The figure's arms will not fit on the hand grips anymore because of the added thumb control details. The rest of the figure doesn't fit on the Pod as a rider.

Notice the feet do not contact the foot rests, it's not seated in the seat and it just looks too big.

The only way to get the figure to look right is to aggressively modify the pose with lots of cutting and putty. If you're an intermediate to advanced modeler, then this can be done.

This must be why the kit box states, " SKILL LEVEL 3 AGES 15 & UP "

Thanks for that interesting review.

Always nice getting a look inside the box as well a description of how well the kit assembles.

I held off building my Batpod until the figures came out. I ordered a set but haven't gotten them yet. While a well-fitting set of figures would have been nice, I'd have probably bought them regardless because of my desire to have Batman on the bike.

yeah, true. Building them at the same time is probably the better option.

I bought them mainly because they are IM Styrene figures in 1/25. With my knowledge of quality of the batman figs now, I'll still purchase the 1/25 Joker figure when and if that is released.

I'm always hunting for and collecting at least reasonably accurate and detailed figures and accessories in 1/25 - 1/24

thanks for looking and your input

With the name Robin, I am required to be a Batman fan. I even married a woman named Barbara...and my brother's name is Alfred.

oh wow, very interesting and coincidental name association. I assumed Rob was for Robert.

When you start building your Bat-Pod, be careful while inserting (part 31 front) and (Part 32 rear) wheel rims into the tire (Parts 48). Damage can occur on the side walls of one side. I filed the ribs off on mine after this discovery.
