Any canine kits?
Posted by MikeyBugs95 on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 3:15 PM

I'm looking for some dog kits. Not the precast, prepainted ones... But the type that you have to build and paint yourself. My dog just died today so I'd like to try to make a kit of her... But I can't find any standalone dog kits anywhere... Does anyone know where I can find one?

Bachmann used to make a series called "Dogs of the World".  they made Collie, German Shepherd, Pointer, Wire-Haired Terrier, Poodle, Basset Hound, Cocker Spaniel, St. Bernard, Boxer, Dalmatian, Mongrel. .  They are about 6" long.  Revell also did a Beagle.  They have been OOP for many years though.  Those are the only ones I can think of.

I'm sorry to hear about your pet.

Not sure about any kits but you might take a toy dog figure and repaint it adding more detail than the cheap paint jobs they come with. A few guys here have taken toy figures and detailed them out. Sorry that's the best I can come up with.

Condolences on your loss--been there and felt that.

Quick search confirms my general suspicion--there are a number of breeds available in 1/35-1/32-54mm; there are some K-9mm in 90 & 120mm.

eBay has a Bachmann wire-haired terrier, and it's opening for $15.

There are dogs in the 1/16 assembled & painted farm die-cast scales, which would want work.
