I'm in the closing days of my latest project and, lacking ideas, went flipping through old issues for inspiration for my next project.
In this years September issue on page 32 there is a delightful post-apocalyptic Toyota pickup built by Kenneth Childres. It peaked my interest.
I decided to do the same except with Revell's 1966 Chevy El Camino, an old favorite of mine. Rusted plates over the windows, metal mesh over the headlights, roof (perhaps passenger seat) mounted machine gun, and Jerry cans in the back.
The problem I'm having is locating 1:25 mounted machine guns, Jerry cans, and the like. Does anyone know where I can get some? Will I have to scratch build? I feel a lot less confident in that field.

Thanks this helped me quite a bit. Got a few more ideas for the model know.
There's also the old MPC police car kits that were recently reissued by AMT/Ertl/Round 2. I believe the most current version is in the Dukes of Hazzard Sheriff Roscoe police car. It includes some small arms like an M16 rifle, shotgun and revolver. It also can be found in the 1980s Batman movie Joker's Goon Car that gets reissued often. That kit can be built into a Gotham police car.
Round 2 also released a 1/25 scale WWII jeep that has weapons in it.
The 1/25 scale Monogram Huey repop has 4- 50 cal machine guns in the kit. If you can find the old Tamiya 1/25 scale military figures they came with a collection of German and US weapons including BARs and Thompsons
Carl.
Hasgawa has or had three versions of the Jeep in 1/24th scale with different weapons options. One version includes a trailer and all three have driver figures. They also released a 1/24th Kubalwagon with a driver figure and a set of German light weapons.
Italeri offer both a Toyota Landcruiser and a Jeep in 1/25 scale. both have a mounted .50 cal gun. I think the Land Cruiser would be a good alternative choice.
