You might try the movie Saving Private Ryan, they show some airborn troops. or Band Of Brothers , its all about the 101st. hope this helps!

I don't know what uniform he is wearing.
There are two options.

1- M42 Jumpsuit. Worn during D-Day. This is the classic jumpsuit.
It is kind of a light olive color. Check atthefront.com to see their repro looks like.

2- M43 Uniform. Worn Market garden on. This looks more like a traditional field jacket.
The pant were often modified with leg "cargo" pockets. Thecolor was more greenish.
Almost a light forest green. They did fade to a lighter green color. Type M43 Jacket on EBAY. You can view picture of some there. How is the figure? I have read bad reviews of the figure.

There is a good Squadron/Signal book on the 101st. Try to describe the uniform and I'll post what I can find in the airborne book tomm. Hopefully I'll remember to grab it before I leave the house.
Try to find a link to the kit. Maybe I can figure it out from a pic.

I use Tamiya Acrylics for US infantry. Ive done Dragon's 101st Airborne D-Day and I used Dark Yellow for The pants and Paratroop Jacket. I also use Kahki-Drab for the coats and red-brown for paratrooper boots. Whatever looks the best.

Check out this web site.

http://101airborneww2.com/

Look under the "uniforms" link. The Guy who runs the site is an WWII 101st Airborne historian who's got a large collection of original uniforms, patches and artifacts. He's also written several books on the topic.
