That is an awesome bust for being your first figure. Excellent job.

Wow, that looks fantastic from here!  I can't speak from experience, but that looks great for somebody's tenth or nth figure.  Just compare your work to the displays that were regularly showing up at European shows, courtesy of the YouTube channel Projectionniste while it was active.  You should be proud, not disparaging.

That's really nice, and I love how its displayed. Did that come with the figure. I did my first bust earlier this year, also a Young Miniatures 1/10th. Was a lovely kit and hoping to do some more.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Great job. The eyes and jacket liner are awsome!

Don't see why you are beating yourself up on this figure. It actually looks very good. The skin tone and beard shadow looks spot on. The eyes and pupils look Great. The uniform and equipment colors and texture look very good too.

IMO you did one heck of a job on such a difficult subject.

Well done!  I'm not a good painter myself and don't feel qualified to comment much on shadows and highlighting, but I'd suggest posting these photos on Planetfigure.com for critique and comment.

All the best,

Thanks for the comments, everyone! I guess you are more impressed with it than I am. Of course, I am my own worst critic. Maybe if you saw the full-sized picture you can see the flaws better. Smile

Finished my first figure!
Posted by hypertex on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 9:18 AM

Well, it's not really finished. I broke the oxygen mask that came with the kit so I didn't install it. But this is my first figure, so don't laugh too hard.

This is Young Miniatures 1/10 scale B-17 Waist Gunner bust. Great kit. Painted with Vallejo acrylics, a bit of oils, and spots of Humbrol Metal Cote. I made the base myself. Comments welcome.
